First recorded NSAC Triple Slam 10-21-07

JN “Juice”, TS “Tsnacks” and AN “Kodiak” hit the waters off Montauk Point on Sunday, October 21st.  Out on AN’s Mako.

Weather, sunny, warm 65-70degrees.  Wind 10 knots from the West , switching Southwest.  Seas 3-4 ft. moderate swell.

Beautiful Fall run day at the Mecca.  Loaded up on Gas at Montauk Marine Basin.  Joined the fleet of charter and rec fisherman off the point and worked the north rips with diamond jigs, the Juice was on the salt fly.  Immediate hook up with Blues to 10 lbs.  Adam landed a schoolie bass, only one of the day.  Landed total of 40-50 blues on the day as well, still sore from the action.

After slack, the outgoing produced numerous, vicious surface blitzes with Blues/Bass and False Albacore!  Sickest blitzes I’ve ever seen.  Fish were attacking bait balls of very small Anchovies.  JN finally landed a few blues on the fly!  AN switched over to a deadly dick on light tackler spinner rod.  BAM fish on ! worked him 360 degrees around the console and I netted him in.  AN’s first in-shore falsie.  I couldn’t resist, gave the lure a few tosses.  Frustrated I couldn’t hook into one…then BAM, albie on after 40 th cast.  Sick fight!  First recorded NSAC Triple Slam - Albie/Blue/Bass all caught in one trip.

 Great day.
