Early Sat morning trip 4:45am at dock. Barely got out b/c of steering trouble. That would've been terrible. CD, TS, HE, GW. Solid crew.
Outboard would not turn when I turned the wheel. Troubleshot every which way…finally gave up and cursed and shook the steering wheel and it turned! When all else fails, just shake the s—t out of it!
Set up for chunk near 13 for outgoing, sunup! 1st boat out in triangle. Gordo had first run off…bzzzzzz! Ended up with 9 blues up to 7lbs.
Kept 1 blue for strips. Tired of blues, pulled up anchor and drifted for fluke. HE quick to pull up 15”, then CD with two at 19”. OK, nice trend. 3rd drift wham!!! I connect with something heavy. Swift network by CD, landed my best fluke ever....26.25”, 7lbs. weighed at Northeast B&T. Fluke record finally broken. Caught on green fluke ball with green teaser, fluorocarbon leader. Bluefish strip. 1 more bluefish on the teaser. Celebration beer/burger at Shamrock of course. Great teamwork with ideas, methods, net-work, etc. total for day …10 blues and 6 fluke.
